We all desperately need wisdom.
True wisdom comes from God and it is supremely acquired through our personal relationship with him.
Knowledge is horizontal. Wisdom is vertical. It comes down from Above. You and I will grow in wisdom as we learn, reflect and live in relationship with God.
This wisdom is a kind of “sanctified common sense.”
It leads to greater self-understanding.
It gives us the ability to cope in life.
It helps us steer through life and master its challenges.
It is the sort of legacy good parents want to hand on to their children.
It is the sort of legacy that spreads the fragrance of Christ as we allow it to show up in our life. Day after day after day.
Ultimately, wisdom is found in Jesus Christ, who is the ‘wisdom of God’ (1 Corinthians 1:24).
Jesus Christ is the wisdom we long for as we go about our daily activities.
Wisdom is a Person. And He gives Himself to us, generously, if we ask, without looking down on us. (James 1:5)
And His generous giving of Himself to you and to me, will no doubt, become evident in our daily lives as we grant him our permission to be displayed through our daily lives!
But thanks be to God, who made us his captives and leads us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume.
