3-Day COACH Model Workshop October 12-14, 2022

Based on the book, The COACH Model for Christian Leaders, this 3-day workshop is made both as a refresher for those who are experienced as well as an introduction to those who are not-so-experienced in coaching skills.

Over the course of this introductory training, you will become familiar with the COACH Model® and use it to coach other participants throughout the training. By the end of the three days you will better understand the skills and will have further confidence to use coaching in your work, mentoring and home contexts.  

Topic and skills covered in this practical and interactive workshop:

• How to listen actively so others feel you understand them.
• How to ask powerful questions that initiate a change of thinking.
• How to generate feedback that avoids defensiveness.
• How to design action steps that will actually be accomplished.
• How to follow-up to increase learning and accountability.

Coach-training participants include anyone, man or woman, interested in learning the priceless skill of coaching which can be used in any relationship, leadership role and ministry!

Whether you are a part of church staff, a missionary, a teacher, a spouse, a parent, a discipleship-group leader, a church-ministry volunteer, an accountability partner, a local out-reach leader, a neighbor, a friend, a co-worker, then serving those around you with coaching skills is a next-step for you!

Meet your workshop facilitators:

Tami Thorsen 

Tami and her husband, Charlie, along with their two children served in Bolivia for eight years (2004-20012), teaching Bible classes at the SIM mission high school. Prior to this, Tami served alongside her husband as he ministered for ten years as student pastor. Tami is an active ICF ACC credentialed coach and has been coaching 1:1, groups and couples since 2016, either in person or online. Tami especially loves empowering highly driven, perfectionistic women of faith so they may live further aligned to their God-given design for even greater impact.  Since February 2017, Tami has been a licensed COACH Model trainer for Keith Webb’s 3-Day COACH Model Training Workshop. She offers this training to mission cohorts, church groups/staff, university students, and even invests time 1:1 with those interested, both on-site and via Zoom.
