Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) “For we are God’s masterpiece.
He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Luke 8:22–25 (NLT)
One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger.
The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.
Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?”
The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”
We are God’s masterpiece—designed, seen, and called with purpose. Yet in life’s storms, that truth can feel blurry. Instead of living like we’re created for good works, we often default to survival mode—just trying to get through the day without capsizing.
I’ve been there. Maybe you have too.
The storm comes. Fear rises. We feel overwhelmed, abandoned even. And then—Jesus asks the question: “Where is your faith?”
I wrestled long and hard with that question in prayer, deeply.
I asked God to help me understand what Jesus was really asking. Why that word? Why “where”?
So I turned to the King James Version and looked up the original Greek word using a concordance. The word used for “where” in this context is a word of locality. It’s not just about the presence or absence of faith—it’s about its position.
Suddenly, it hit me.
Jesus wasn’t shaming their fear. He was pointing out the location of their faith.
It made me think of it like this:“On a scale of 1 to 10, where is your faith in Me right now? Is it located in your own limited understanding of who I am (a 1)? Or is it anchored in My True Identity, as I’ve declared Myself to be (a 10)?”
Faith’s Location Determines Our Response
When we locate our faith in the wrong place—in human strength, past experience, self-effort, or false views of Jesus—we’ll always panic when the storm hits.
But God desires that RIGHT NOW...EVERY MOMENT of our lives becomes an opportunity to level up our faith—to shift it deeper into the reality of who He says He is.
This is what spiritual maturity is all about: Taking every thought captive that argues against the truth of His identity.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT) “We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”
That includes the lies that whisper:
“God must not care.”
“I have to fix this myself.”
“Maybe Jesus isn’t enough for this.”
We take those thoughts captive by remembering Jesus’ question:“Where is your faith?”… and asking ourselves, “Where am I locating my trust today?”
Luke 9:25 reminds us of the cost of misplaced faith:
“And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?”
What good is striving, control, or even worldly success if our faith is located anywhere but in Jesus Himself?
Jesus Is Calling You to Level Up
Every storm, every celebration, every moment of confusion or clarity is an invitation to level up:
Level up your trust in who Jesus says He is.
Level up your understanding of His authority and grace.
Level up your faith over fear by relocating your faith in Him alone.
This is how we walk in our Ephesians 2:10 identity—not as spiritual orphans, but as crafted masterpieces, ready for every good thing He’s prepared.
Two Soul-Searching Questions to Reflect On:
1. In this season, what has exposed the current “locality” of your faith—and where is Jesus inviting you to LEVEL it UP?
2. What thoughts or beliefs are arguing against God’s truth in your heart right now—and how will you LEVEL UP to take them captive to make them obedient to Christ?
As you move into the rest of your day, don’t just read and move on. LEVEL UP.
Pause. Reflect. Relocate.
What will be LEVELED UP in your thinking RIGHT NOW now that Jesus has asked, “Where is your faith?” What part of His identity is He asking you to believe more deeply?
Let this final truth guide and LEVEL you UP:
2 Peter 3:18 (NLT) “Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.”
We’re not called to perfect faith overnight—but we are called to grow. Level UP.
Level UP in grace.
Level UP in knowledge.
Level UP in trust.
Level UP into the masterpiece you already are.
Because Jesus calms more than waves—He LEVEL UPS our faith so it’s located in the One who never changes, even when everything else does.
You are His masterpiece.
Your faith has a location.
Let Him help you level it up—today.
