Fire.
Burning away the smudges,
That a spirit may grow back stronger.
Use the meek,
Use the humble
To show this mountain to its place.
Use the lilies
To teach this oak tree, that it isn’t as tall as it seems,
That it isn’t as strong.
Use the broken to show beauty in your mercy.
Renew the fire that’s longed to burn.
Burn away regret.
What the world says is impossible,
Where the world says I shouldn’t go,
There you stand and conquer.
Let me not be a light that has dimmed itself
As to not disturb the darkness.
But a burning flame,
That cannot be hidden,
And cannot be commanded
By the absence of life.
“And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'They are my people'; and they will say, 'The Lord is my God.'"”
Zechariah 13:9
“he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;”
Luke 1:52
“Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.”
Matthew 5:15
Wow! Such a vivid prayer of deep desire to invite the Sovereign Refiner of our hearts to do His powerful work in us, then through us! Amen!
