Love this. I’m still learning what that “trade in” looks like in my life. But amen that we have such a beautiful, loving God who’s ways are so much greater than our ways.
Amen! Thank you for your willingness to further the truth of the original post by sharing your own Head2Heart journey regarding God’s work of refining our idea of renewal to be an exchange of what little we have for everything God has! Wow! So what does this truth do for me right now? Well, for me honestly, right this very minute I feel the tightening of my muscles in my neck and shoulders. I am stressed. I am tired. I feel pressured. I don’t like this feeling. I need renewal. Not more “gas” for my “engine” so I can keep going... No, I need to exchange my “gas-groping” for His promised Grace. This was such a good read and made me think back to my Bible reading one morning this past week in the book of Isaiah. In Isaiah 40:31 it says, "but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
The author (Kayla Ferris) of the devotion I read says this, "We get weary and worn out. And when this happens God doesn't look at us with disappointment, but rather He sees an invitation. An invitation to "renew" or strength". The word renew means "to exchange". We trade the little we have for everything God has. And God has powerful, endl…
